Mitch McConnell posed with two famous wrestlers in his home state of Kentucky as his personal showdown with former President Donald Trump rages on.

The House Minority Leader stopped by WKYT studios in Kentucky on Wednesday to help professional fighters Mr. PEC-Tacular and Luscious Lawrence.

The wrestlers were recording promos for Ohio Valley Wrestling when they ran into McConnell, said Kentucky Sports Radio.

‘With @LeaderMcConnell and @TheLusciousBaby in my CBS’ studios ‘@WKYT fam. #STOKED,’ Mr PEC-Tacular wrote on Twitter.

In the photo, McConnell can be seen wearing his usual coat and tie – overshadowed by the huge men showing their muscles on either side of him.

McConnell may need the wrestlers to serve as bodyguards as his feud with Trump continues unabated.

Earlier in the day, Trump addressed McConnell in a fiery statement about the political ramifications that fellow lawmaker Liz Cheney is currently facing.

Had Mike Pence referred the information on six states (only two needed) back to the state legislature, and had guts and no idea of MINORITY leader Mitch McConnell (he blew two seats in Georgia that should never have been lost ) fought to expose all the corruption presented at the time, with more found since we would have had a very different presidential outcome, and our country would not turn into a socialist nightmare! Never give up!’ Trump said.

It marked the latest escalation in tensions between the two, which reached a boiling point on Jan. 6 when McConnell spoke out of the Senate to denounce members of his own party who objected to the certification of the election results on Trump’s behalf.

“Nothing to us proves illegality near the sheer scale that would have tipped the whole election,” McConnell said.

“The voters, the courts, the states — they’ve all spoken. They have all spoken. Putting them aside would damage our republic forever. This election was actually not unusually close. Only in recent history, 1976, 2000 and 2004 were all closer, ‘he added.

McConnell also said the former president was “practically and morally responsible” for the events at the Capitol in January.

Ever since McConnell seemingly betrayed Trump, the former president has had little trouble going after the senator.

Speaking in April at a Republican National Committee meeting at his Mar-a-Lago Club, Trump called McConnell a “ dumb son of ab ****. ”

“If that was Schumer instead of this dumb son of ab **** Mitch McConnell, they would never let it happen,” Trump said of the election certification process. “They would have fought it.”

According to The Washington Post, Trump also insulted McConnell’s wife, Elaine Chao, calling McConnell an “ icy loser ” during the speech.

‘I hired his wife. Did he ever thank you? Trump said of Chao. “She suffered so badly.”

McConnell was not present at the speech, and he has told advisers that he has no intention of speaking to Trump again.

That didn’t stop Trump from attacking McConnell again last week during comments to the Fox Business Network.

‘We need good leadership. Mitch McConnell hasn’t done a great job, ” Trump said Reuters. “I think they need to change Mitch McConnell.”

McConnell responded by saying, “We’re looking to the future, not the past.”
