The Australian Olympian Mitch Larkin has broken his silence in his public separation with the swimmer Emily Seebohm.
The couple split up in June after 26-year-old Seebohm said he found text messages from another woman on Larkin's 25-year-old phone, prompting rumors of an affair.
But Larkin has refuted the allegations, saying he was "blinded", reports the Post Office.

Swimmate and ex-girlfriend Emily Seebohm (right) accused Larkin (left) of having an affair after she claimed he found messages from another woman on his phone.
Speaking for the first time since his break more than four months ago, Larkin says the wounds are still fresh.
But he wants to give his side of the story, saying that his reputation has been tainted.
He emphatically denies the accusation of cheating with a team member and says that he and Seebohm simply parted company.
The couple's tensions reached a point where Larkin said he realized he needed to end the relationship, citing his exact break date on June 9.
They agreed to keep the separation quiet for a few weeks and focus on swimming and public events, but then accusations of deception arose.

Larkin says he was never consulted about making the breakup of the couple public.
The day after Seebohm found the inflammatory text messages, he made a public publication on Instagram announcing his separation.
Larkin says he was never consulted on how to make the rupture public and that's what hurts the most.
"I would be reading all these stories and I would hear quotes from Em, but at the same time she was sending me a text message to the contrary and wanting to be friends and making sure things were okay, and wanting to draw a line in the sand … That really messed with my head.
He said he could not understand the rumors of an issue, claiming that the messages were misinterpreted.
He says the messages were actually from an old friend and training partner, Abbey Harkin, who had contacted him to see if he was okay after learning about the breakup.
Larkin says he only met Harkin twice, after having broken up with Seebohm and just as friends.
In any case, the rumors ran rampant and affected his swimming, says Larkin.
"I was training super numbed and I was not even present in my days, I was reviewing the routines of the sessions … I did not have anything left."

Since then he has recovered and changed his focus on representing Australia in the 2020 Olympic Games.
Larkin said he has no intention of retiring and is still at his best with only 25 years old.
Seebohm, for its part, has its sights set on the FINA World Championships, which will be held in Gwangju, South Korea, in 2019.
She still lives in the million-dollar Brisbane house that the couple bought last year.
The 26-year-old said earlier that he hopes the pair can remain friendly while competing side by side.
