A Missouri animal shelter has rescued a three-month-old puppy who was found shaved with swastikas drawn on his skin.
The pup, who was named Leslie, was discovered by law enforcement with the message ‘don’t feed this dog’ engraved on its back along with other hateful markings.
She was taken to Rescue One, a veterinary and animal rescue clinic in Springfield, who then bathed the adorable pup to “take away all that hate”.
The shelter wrote on social media: “Just when we think we’ve seen it all…
“This 3 month old puppy has been shaved and has swastikas drawn all over his body. It also says on its back “Do not feed this dog (explicit)”.
The pup, who was named Leslie, was discovered by law enforcement with the message ‘don’t feed this dog’ engraved on its back alongside swastikas.

After taking several baths, the shelter said the dog is on the verge of a full recovery as the horrific marks have faded significantly since they first found her.
“We are grateful that law enforcement rescued this dog and that we can be part of his journey to a great home.
“She heads for the tub to wash away all that hate. Only love here.
Horrified dog lovers across the country have joined in thanking the shelter for saving the pup and speaking out against the people who shot the dog.
One person said, “I am speechless! People are horrible. I’m glad that poor dog is away from all this hate and is with Rescue One. Thanks for what you do !’
Another said: “I honestly can’t even find words to describe how this makes me feel. An innocent puppy!! This is a new level of despicable!! Thank goodness she was found by officers and given to Rescue One. The future is bright for this sweet baby!!’
A third added: ‘Poor baby can you imagine how scared she was getting shaved and shot. May law enforcement find the dirt bags that did this.

In an update, the rescue shelter wrote, “The pup you’ve all been talking about is settling in just fine!”
“She took several baths and the swastikas faded a lot. She met doggie friends, took lots of naps and was helpful at the clinic.
“We named her Leslie and she’s perfect.”
A commenter asked the shelter: “Thank you for saving this sweet, innocent baby. Do you know if the monsters who did this to her have been charged? This is unacceptable and disgusting.
But the rescue replied that it is unfortunately not illegal to shoot anything at your animals.
They said, “Unfortunately, it’s not illegal to draw anything on your animal. It’s illegal to let them go on a rampage repeatedly so they can’t fire her for that reason.
The shelter has confirmed that applications to adopt Leslie are open.
