Missouri police are in a standoff with a shooter who took hostages in a parking lot in St Charles, near City Hall.
On Monday, gunshots were heard on the first floor of the garage after screams were heard, according to St. Charles Mayor Dan Borgmeyer.
St Charles, a city of approximately 70,493 people, is about 30 minutes northwest of St Louis.
No injuries have been reported.
A large police presence remains next to the parking lot that serves City Hall.
