Mississippi police are searching for a “very, very dangerous” murderer who escaped from prison on Christmas Eve.

Drew Johnson, 33, escaped from the South Mississippi Correctional Institution on Tuesday, according to the George County Sheriff’s Office.

‘He will be desperate and very, very dangerous. Call your family and warn them. Send messages to them and get responses,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

Johnson was serving a life sentence for the 25-year-old’s murder in 2016 Calvin Holloway Jr., who was shot

Friends said Holloway left to help a friend who was stranded at 3:45 a.m. and never returned.

His Chevrolet truck was found abandoned in Memphis, five miles from where police found his body Clarion General Ledger.

Holloway had met Johnson in southwest Memphis.

His body was found in that area with multiple stab wounds four days after he was reported missing in April 2016.

Rebecca Allison, an accessory to Holloway’s murder, was charged with aiding Johnson.

It remains unclear whether she is still in prison.

According to an arrest affidavit, Allison told detectives she was aware of Holloway’s death.

She admitted to being in Holloway’s truck and helping to wipe it down after he was killed, the outlet reported.

Johnson also pleaded guilty to hitting and killing a fellow inmate in the head with a rock and setting the prison on fire twice.

He was charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated arson in 2022.

‘People are more generous at Christmas and let their guard down. Please be vigilant and careful,” the sheriff’s office said.

In addition to the murder conviction, Johnson has a lengthy criminal history in other states.

The prison he escaped from is in southwest Mississippi, not far from the Alabama state line.

Police are calling on the public not to engage with him if they see him, but to instead alert authorities.
