A piglet was reunited with its owner after it was found wandering the streets, giving local police officers a high-speed chase they weren’t expecting.
The Sebastopol Police Department received multiple calls around 1:40 p.m. Thursday about a pig, later identified as Pickles, running on and off the road in the 800 block of Gravenstein Highway North in Sonoma County, California. .
It’s still unclear how Pickles ended up on the streets, but authorities said the four-legged perpetrator “proved to be very fast and strong for an animal his size.”
The ordeal was captured on video by a police officer’s body camera. Officials released a shorten on Facebook showing the chase across several city blocks.

‘Pickles’ narrowly escaped capture, but with the help of local passersby, the fugitive was cornered in a side yard, apprehended and taken into custody.
Instead of filing charges for resisting arrest, officers opted to let Pickles return to his mother without citing him at the scene.
