A British tourist who disappeared in Saint Lucia after attending a street party on the island has been found, according to local police.
Jemima Colenso, 33, is from Somerset and has been living on a boat moored at Rodney Bay Marina in the north of the island.
She was reported missing yesterday, before which police said she was last seen at the Gros Islet street party around 11:26 pm on Friday.
In an update this afternoon, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force posted on social media that Ms Colenso “has been located and is in good health.”
The force’s statement went on to “thank everyone who helped locate her.”
The British woman’s most recent post on Instagram was shared three days ago and shows her browsing.
Mrs. Colenso is a native of Somerset. She is an avid sailor and has shared many photos from her travels.
Police reportedly launched an extensive search for Ms Colenso and said they were working “around the clock” to locate her.
According the sunA police source revealed that Ms Colenso “went to the police station to say she was fine and thanked the police for their efforts in trying to locate her”.
“She said her phone was damaged and hence the reason why they couldn’t contact her or contact anyone,” they added.
A street vendor who works at the popular street party Colenso attended expressed surprise at his disappearance.
“People come from all over the world to celebrate and we don’t expect them to disappear,” said the seller.
“The police have always done a good job keeping everyone safe and secure in this city.”
