The remains of a married father of three who was reported missing in Argentina have been found in a shark caught by fishermen.
Diego Barría disappeared on February 18 after taking a ride on his all-terrain vehicle in the southern province of Chubut.
The 32-year-old’s wrecked ATV was found by a search team on Feb. 20 on a beach near Rocas Coloradas. They also found Barría’s helmet, which was dented and broken at the chin.
Around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, two fishermen reeled in three schooling sharks near where Barría’s ATV was located and made the gruesome discovery while cleaning one of the sharks.
The remains of Diego Barría, pictured with his wife Virginia Brugger, were discovered Sunday inside a shark by two fishermen in Chubut, Argentina. Barría, a father of three, mysteriously disappeared on February 18 after he went riding his ATV

“I was so unlucky that I found it myself,” said one of the fishermen in an audio clip of a conversation obtained by Argentina’s Diario Jornada newspaper. “I went fishing and I opened up the shark’s belly and I found a forearm with a tattoo.”
Barría’s family was able to confirm it was him because of the pink, green and red tattoo with the name ‘Josefina’ on it.
Barría was last seen at 10:30 p.m. on February 18 after taking a drive into the countryside.
He is said to have greeted three fisherman friends and another person who was the last to see him alive.

Authorities are investigating whether a second vehicle was involved in an accident involving Diego Barría’s ATV

Secretary of State for Civil Protection Jose Mazeei said investigators are investigating the strange disappearance.
Mazeei indicated that they have two hypotheses. One points out that Barría was injured in an accident and the other that he lay unconscious on the beach before the tides pushed his body out of the sea.
Authorities are also investigating whether another vehicle was involved in the accident.
Cristian Ansaldo, police chief of Comodoro Rivadavia, told local media that a DNA test would be conducted to confirm it is Barría.
Barría’s heartbroken wife, Virginia Brugger, took to Instagram to share a photo of them laughing together on Sunday.
‘My heart went with you! I love you forever,” she wrote.
