‘There’s a fine line between looking sassy and looking like someone’s been taken on your plate’: MasterChef viewers compare contestant Mirel’s gluten-free cake to poop — despite rave reviews from the judges

Viewers of MasterChef raved about the appearance of one cake during Tuesday night’s show.

When the series returned for another episode, contestants in the audition round were challenged to create a series of bakes to impress the judges and win aprons.

But one of the dishes, a gluten-free vegan cake with chocolate and candied walnuts, made by Mirel, failed to convince viewers.

People took to Twitter to comment on the presentation, claiming it looked like poop, despite rave reviews from John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

Greg and John had commented on the contemporary character of the decoration and said it was nice.

However, one person tweeted, “There’s a fine line between “looking sassy” and looking like someone got caught on your plate.”

Another added, “And that looks like a turd with bits of gold leaf,” while a third wrote, “My presentation is “poop after eating sweet corn.”

Someone else wrote, “Well, irrefutable evidence right there, looking at that cake, is that you can polish a turd.”

Meanwhile, another person added, “It’s like he was trying to repack a Ferrero Rocher he’d already chewed.”

And another wrote: ‘I think it looks contemporary. I think it looks like a hammered turd.’

It comes after MasterChef viewers were left speechless on Friday when fan favorite Forest got the competition’s boot.

The marketing director, 34, originally from Hong Kong, impressed viewers and judges alike earlier in the competition, but suffered a series of setbacks tonight during the quarterfinals.

He chose to make a savory dish for the first time, but returning winner Thomasina Miers, who was allowed to judge this week, was not impressed.

Thomasina said Forest’s lobster and cheese sauce was not up to standards, as she called them “one-dimensional.”

His Eton Mess also failed to impress, but viewers think it was Forest’s decision to use packet noodles, allowing judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace to easily send him home, leaving viewers furious.

One person took to Twitter to express his disappointment with the result, writing, “Forest was my winner until today!”

“Forest is only lost because he got his noodles out of a packet,” another commented.
