Aussie actress Miranda Otto teases return Down Under after living in the US for the past decade to focus on her Hollywood career
Aussie actress Miranda Otto is teasing plans to move back to Australia after living in the US for ten years.
The Brisbane-born actress, 55, lacks time to spend Down Under and is considering returning home for a while.
Miranda, who shares her 18-year-old daughter Darcey with her actor husband Peter O’Brien, made the confession while promoting her new Disney+ series The Clearing.
“I would definitely like to spend more time here now that my daughter has actually finished school in America,” she said during an interview with podcast Reload TV on Thursday.
“I want to spend more time in Australia,” she added.

Miranda was praised by fans for her spine-chilling role in The Clearing, which premiered on Disney+ on Wednesday.
The War of the Worlds actress plays a cult leader who goes up against a former member of the group, played by co-star Teresa Palmer.
“You can’t play bad or cold or whatever,” Miranda said of the role. “You have to make it understandable why people allow themselves to be taken in by her.”
The drama is a fictionalized account of the so-called ‘Doomsday Cult’ founded by Anne Hamilton-Byrne in the 1960s.
The eight-part drama, starring Guy Pearce and Hazem Shammas, is based on JP Pomare’s novel of the same name.

Elsewhere in the chat, Miranda talked about her childhood as the daughter of Australian actors Barry Otto and Lindsay Otto.
“When I started (acting) people knew me as a little kid,” she recalls. “And it was a process of finding my own identity as myself and not just as my father’s daughter.”
She also touched on the current trend of “fake babies,” where celebrities’ children use their backgrounds as a way to break into the company.
“I just think the audience decides… whether they like the work or not. You can’t make it at the end of the day.’
It comes after The Clearing received critical acclaim from fans just minutes after the show dropped its first episodes.

“Oh dear, watching now and just the scenery alone,” one fan wrote.
‘Very cool! Just when I thought I’d only watch the first episode tonight, now I feel compelled to watch the second,” another viewer added
“My god, what a perfect performance,” one viewer commented, while another agreed: “Perfect acting!”
Miranda’s younger sister Gracie, 34, co-directed the series with Australian actor and filmmaker Jeffrey Walker.
