Blake’s brother, Richie, tragically died in a car accident in 1990 when Blake was only 14 years old. He was 24 at the time.

Miranda explained the story behind About You, saying, ‘My ex-husband, Blake, had lost a brother and it’s one of those times when, even when you’re married to someone, you sometimes discover something new about them.

‘Guys aren’t open about things, but he started telling me about the experience of it all. And I was like, “Have you ever written about it?”

The singer explained how Blake’s dad always said, “you can’t get over it, you just get used to it”.

She continued, “And I was like, ‘Can we write it? Do you want to try it or is that invasive?’.”

Miranda went on to say to Blake, ‘I would never try to write your story because I didn’t live it, but maybe I can help because I’m an outside perspective, but I feel your pain talking to me now. ‘

She added: “It was a really special moment and I am so happy that we shared that song and that it helped his family heal, to have it together.”

Lyrics for the song include: ‘But you left / How dare you? / I’ll miss you / They say you’ll be fine / But I’ll never get over you. ‘
