It’s been four years since he last appeared on screens and nine years since his hit comedy of the same name ended.
But Miranda Hart, who announced Tuesday that she was recently married, has hinted at a return to her comedy career, admitting she misses “the laughter and the silliness.”
Appearing on The One Show on Tuesday to promote her new book I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You, Miranda explained how chronic illnesses have left her housebound for years, putting a pause on her incredible career.
The star said that now, after feeling satisfied writing her book, she is ready to return to television.

“I really want to get back to doing some silly things now,” he declared.
‘I miss the studio floor, I miss the laughter, I still don’t have any ideas, they haven’t leaked. But I miss wasting time.
Miranda has kept a low profile in recent years. The comedian rose to fame with her eponymous comedy series in 2009 and starred in Call The Midwife as Chummy from 2012 to 2015.
In 2017 it was revealed that Miranda would not be returning to Call The Midwife, citing a busy work schedule as the reason.
But he later revealed during a stand-up gig in London that he had been suffering from “poor” health.
She was last seen in the 2020 film adaptation of Jane Austin, where she played the ‘harmless charlatan’ Miss Bates.
Meanwhile, a Miranda 10th anniversary special, filmed at the London Palladium in 2019 and described by Hart as “a party (not a new episode),” also aired in 2020.
Speaking about the years she spent confined to the house due to her illness, Miranda told The One Show: “They haven’t been the most pleasant years, I’ve mainly been in bed or confined to the house with a chronic illness, so they have It’s been a difficult few years, almost a decade, which is what my book describes.
“It’s very nice to be back on television, I’m very excited to be here. Once you’re bedridden with a chronic illness caused by fatigue and which takes a long time to diagnose, you miss life a lot, so I’m delighted to be here. ‘

‘Part of the story of the book is the discovery of what could help. I wanted to investigate all this wellness experience that exists.
“I was alone in bed at home and the doctors didn’t know what was wrong with me. I couldn’t have a yoga retreat, so what are the universal truths? I did years of research. In the book there are ten keys, which I call my treasures, to live well.’
“I am living a life full of joy, meaning and fulfillment that I have never had before.”
The comedian appeared on the BBC show to promote her new book I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You, in which she writes about her housebound years and her mysterious new husband.
The book describes “a very unexpected decade in my life and there have been surprising and incredible joys, but also some really difficult and equally surprising challenges.”
She starred in Call The Midwife as Chummy from 2012 to 2015. In 2017 it was revealed that Miranda would not be returning to Call The Midwife, citing a busy work schedule as her reason.
Speaking to Alex Jones and Alex Scott, Miranda, 51, declared that “someone has put a ring on her” and revealed that she met “my person” at the age of 49.
‘I’m married, I got married at 51 and it’s so lovely! “I had written Gary for Miranda on screen and it wasn’t until I was 49 that I met the person,” she declared, but insisted that she would keep her husband’s identity a secret.
“It’s a little backstory in the book, I’m not going to reveal how we met because it’s a little twist. He’s my best friend, we have a lot of fun and I’m delighted to be a young bride at 51.”
The star added that she hoped readers of her book would feel hope from her love story, explaining; ‘The fact that I met someone during a pandemic, during a chronic illness, when I couldn’t get out of bed or leave the house… I really, really wanted to meet someone, I didn’t want to move on with life. mine now.’
“The fact that I was able to meet someone is not a romantic comedy story, but hope. Whatever situation you find yourself in, there is always hope, things really do change.’
