Miranda Hart delighted her fans when she revealed that she had secretly married at the age of 52.
But the Call The Midwife star gave no details about the wedding or her husband, later identified as Richard Fairs, 60, a surveyor.
Now, he has revealed that guests broke into song during the ceremony to the Sound of Music classic, Climb Every Mountain.
Speaking to Radio 3’s Private Passions programme, he said: ‘We sang it at our little wedding. “At first I thought, ‘Are we really going to do this?’ It’s such a silly idea.
“And the moment everyone started singing, people got really excited and really got into the beauty of the song.”
And he added: “Now it makes me cry and it also makes me think about the happiest day of my life.”

She said: “It makes me think of the recent joy of getting married, which I had sort of given up on the possibility of, and also of the young me I dreamed of.” I have always been a dreamer. “It’s very emotional.”
MailOnline revealed in October that Miranda and Richard had exchanged vows last July at a 1,000-year-old church in the picturesque Hampshire village of Hambledon, attended by just a handful of family and close friends, all of whom swore an oath to keep the secret.

Renowned as one of the most beautiful villages in the South Downs National Park, Hambledon has become the base for Miranda’s close-knit family.
Her parents, retired Royal Navy Commander David Hart Dyke, and her mother Diana, bought a beautiful mansion there seven years ago, and later her sister Alice, to whom she is very close, moved into the house next door.
Miranda surprised her fans when she announced that she had gotten married over the summer, after she started dating a mystery man who removed mold from her home in 2020.
It was later revealed that he was Richard, the divorcee, after he was photographed picking her up at the Cheltenham Literature Festival in October, 24 hours after she revealed his name on The Graham Norton Show.

Miranda admitted that she immediately “fell in love” with Richard “right there,” moments after they met for the first time in real life.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast in December, he said: “The way we met was quite extraordinary. At the beginning of the book (her autobiography) I had this real longing to no longer be alone and I admitted it to myself.
“It was a great pain because when we long for what we want, it is at a time when we don’t have it, so admitting it to yourself is a painful moment.” I was in my forties and single.
‘And then we met because part of my illness was that I was allergic to the mold in my house. You couldn’t write it. I lost my house, I had to leave my house.
He explained that Richard was the project manager and was coming to fix the construction and remove the mold.
Miranda said: “I was away from home and a friend was dealing with everything because I couldn’t be there and we met up on the last day of the works.” I guess you could say we fell in love right then and there.
She remained silent about her husband’s identity before it was revealed, referring to him only as “The Boy” or “The Mold Man” in her new book, I Haven’t Been Completely Honest With You.
But she revealed they got engaged in January during a trip to Kew Gardens in west London after revealing they had “fallen madly in love with each other”.
