Rebecca Judd has slammed the Victorian government after her repeated warnings about violent crime in her upscale suburb of Bayside were ignored.

Opposition Liberal MP James Newbury released crime statistics on Thursday, showing there are 16 home invasions every day in Victoria and a 43 per cent increase in aggravated burglaries in Bayside.

Rebecca, 41, who lives in a $7.3 million mansion in Brighton with her AFL star husband Chris and four children, was infuriated by the update and quickly took to Instagram to express frustration.

“I’m pretty sure someone warned the government about this in 2022 and it was denied,” she said.

“They didn’t care then and they don’t care now. This is an issue that affects all of Vic, not just Bayside.

This is not the first time the Footy WAG has criticized the Victorian government for its handling of a wave of juvenile crime hitting Melbourne’s wealthier suburbs.

She has previously made headlines for expressing concerns about “machete-wielding youth” gangs.

In June 2022, Rebecca said she felt “unsafe” in her mansion and was “so fed up with the rapes, bashings and home invasions at the hands of Bayside gangs”.

“I personally know of two women who have been victims of home invasions in Brighton over the past few weeks while they were at home,” she said.

Rebecca also reposted CCTV footage of a gang of young men hiding outside properties in her affluent suburb and claimed it put her “in danger”.

The teenagers, who were allegedly armed with knives, were filmed hiding outside several properties in the Bayside area before crashing a stolen BMW into a tree.

Last year she reiterated that Melbourne’s elite suburbs were under siege by criminals, calling for changes to youth crime laws.

She repeatedly called on Prime Minister Jacinta Allan to “fix the system”.

Following the alleged murder of Dr Ashley Gordon by two teenagers, Rebecca said the justice system needed to be overhauled.

“This story is so sad. The justice system is broken. Fix it Jacinta Allan. May this be your legacy,” she said.

“Until the prevention-first strategy starts working with adolescents, you need to keep the community safe and incarcerate violent offenders.
