Mila Kunis shuts down rumors of her joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
When host James Corden asked her on Wednesday’s episode The late late show whether she will play Susan Storm in the near future Fantastic four movie, the That 1970s show actress replied, “Apparently, if you go to lunch with someone who is also in the industry, according to the internet, you are going to work together.
After going to a deli one day with director Matt Shakman, she explained, “The next day I was somehow in Fantastic four.”
Although the Luckiest girl in the world star won’t be in the reboot, she did comment that she “knows who is”. But Kunis didn’t share any further details, because “I don’t want to get into trouble with The Mouse (Disney executives) so none of you will find out.”
The new Fantastic four movie, which has a release date of February 14, 2025, is about to kick off Phase 6 of its story universe. Last month, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported that Josh Friedman, who worked on Avatar: The way of the water, was tapped as a new writer for the Shakman-directed film. Before Friedman was hired, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer were the project’s previous writers.
Fantastic Four’s heroic team played a huge role in the introduction of the MCU in the 1960s. While most of the details about the movie have been kept under wraps, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige said THR at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022 that the movie will not be an original story. He said, “A lot of people know this origin story. Many people know the basics. How do we go about that and bring something they’ve never seen before?”
