Mikel Arteta has refused to rule out Bukayo Saka’s involvement in Sunday’s heavyweight clash with Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.
The England forward was included in Gareth Southgate’s recent international squad to face Australia and Italy, despite limping off in the first half of the Gunners Champions League match with Lens on Tuesday.
As such, there were doubts about his role in what is already looking like a huge contest at the top of the table after just seven games.
Saka has already proven his worth for the north London team this season, with six goals in the Premier League alone (four goals, two assists), and fans will be keen to see their star feature against City.
Arteta was asked about the player’s fitness at a pre-match press conference on Friday but refused to elaborate on his position that Saka was ‘in contention’.
