Mikel Arteta completes a clean sweep at Arsenal as he has been named Premier League Manager of the Month for November and December – his second award of the season – following Martin Odegaard’s player award
- The Arsenal boss has been named Manager of the Month for the second time this campaign
- Picked up the award after Arsenal achieved four wins in four months
- Martin Odegaard has also been named Player of the Month for the period
- For the first time at Arsenal, they have won both awards in eight years – since March 2015
Mikel Arteta has been named Manager of the Month for November and December after leading Arsenal to four wins in two months instead of four.
The Spaniard maintained Arsenal’s impressive start to the season either side of the World Cup and has been duly rewarded with his second such accolade of the season.
Wins against Chelsea and Wolves ahead of the Qatar tournament ended Arsenal’s first part of the season in solid fashion before picking up where they left off on Boxing Day against West Ham with a sweeping 3-1 victory.

Arteta led Arsenal to four wins from four in the months of December and November
Their 4-2 win over Brighton on New Year’s Eve ended a poor streak of recent results against the Seagulls.
Arteta topped a shortlist that also included Eddie Howe, Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Frank.
The former Arsenal player was awarded the award in August after Arsenal had a blistering start to the season, winning 100 per cent of their matches.
Arteta won the award twice last season, in September and March. The last Arsenal manager to win the title twice in a previous season was Arsene Wenger, all the way back in 2007-08.

Alongside Arteta, Martin Odegaard claimed his first-ever Player of the Month award, becoming only the second Norwegian – after Erling Haaland – to claim the award. It marks the first time in March 2015 that Arsenal have won both trophies – with Wenger and Olivier Giroud claiming respective trophies that month.
He has become the first Arsenal player to claim the monthly award since former captain and now Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in September 2019.
Odegaard topped an eight-man shortlist that included Casemiro, Haaland, Ben Mee, Joao Palhinha, Marcus Rashford, Kieran Trippier and his teammate Bukayo Saka.
He told Arsenal’s website: “It feels great. I’ve said many times that this team has a lot of young, hungry players and we play so well together, so it’s just a pleasure to be here and be a part of what we’re doing right now.
“It’s a pleasure to play with them and show my qualities, so I’m very happy with this award.”
