- Bukayo Saka had to leave due to injury during Arsenal’s trip to Selhurst Park
Bukayo Saka will spend “many weeks” on the sidelines after suffering a right hamstring injury in Arsenal’s 5-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, Mikel Arteta has confirmed.
Saka lasted just 25 minutes at Selhurst Park before getting up holding his right hamstring and falling to the ground.
The England international, who has contributed five goals and 10 assists in the league, was cautiously withdrawn before being replaced by Leandro Trossard.
The England winger was seen leaving south London on crutches, struggling to move without staff support.
And now Arsenal fans’ fears have been confirmed as Arteta revealed that the Gunners will have to deal without their star for an extended period of time.
‘It doesn’t look good. He will be out for many weeks,’ Arteta said. “It’s a tough blow, but it will be a great exercise for us to overcome another challenge.”
