Mike Tyson's wife Lakiha Spicer insisted the boxing legend's days in the ring are over

Mike Tyson’s ambitions to re-enter the boxing ring wouldn’t come true if it were up to his wife Lakiha Spicer.

The 58-year-old played Netflix’s first boxing event in November, taking on influencer boxer Jake Paul, who is 30 years his junior, at AT&T Stadium.

After the boxing legend suffered a unanimous decision loss in a lackluster eight-rounder, Tyson’s son, Amir, said Seconds out: ‘I think he’s ready.

“My stepmom, she says he’s done and they’re a team,” he added. “That’s husband-and-wife stuff.”

Amir worries about his father’s safety and fears that his plea to tell Mike to stop might go in one ear and out the other.

Speak with SunSportAmir said, “That conversation would be a waste of time! He’s his own man.’

“If I say too much, he just tells me to shut up and reminds me that I’m not his father,” he added. “I can say my part, but he’s the adult and he’ll do what he wants.”

“I’ll chime in and say, ‘That was a great last fight, leave it at that.’

“But if he wants to do it, no one will stop him because he loves it.”

The fight was originally scheduled for July, but was postponed due to Tyson’s health issues. After a flare-up of a stomach ulcer, the former world heavyweight champion had to take a break from training.

Despite fearing for Mike’s health, Amir admitted he was proud of his father for stepping into the ring against a much younger competitor.

“I was very proud,” he said. ‘But yes, of course I was worried. “I knew he wasn’t going to get knocked down or knocked out because he can take those punches.

“But at the same time, Jake is younger, faster and bigger – as you get older your cardio decreases,” Amir added.

‘But he did better than any 58-year-old, he went the distance and I am extremely proud of what he did. It was like a Rocky XI moment.

“Most athletes finish and retreat into the sunset, but when he remains so relevant, for so many generations, you see everything,” Amir continued. ‘I’m very proud.’
