Mike Tyson admitted to “blanking out” during the fight with Jake Paul and told reporters he could barely remember the fight.

The 58-year-old starred in Netflix’s first boxing event, taking on influencer-turned-boxer Paul, 30 years his junior, at AT&T Stadium in November.

Tyson, who suffered a unanimous decision loss in a lackluster eight-round bout, has said he remembers nothing about the fight after the first round.

talking to Fox Sports RadioTyson said: “I don’t remember the fight much, I went blank.” I haven’t seen the counterattack.

‘You know what I remember… coming back from the first round and Jake was doing some sort of bow… that’s the last thing I remember.’

He added: “I wasn’t tired, I wasn’t sweating.” I went to the house we were staying at, left the house with my wife and kids, went to the after party, and then came back.

Paul, 27, easily defeated Tyson, 58, on Netflix when the former heavyweight champion landed just 18 punches.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer later said he held back against Tyson because he “didn’t want to hurt someone who didn’t need to be hurt.”

Many were surprised the fight was even sanctioned after it was initially delayed in June when Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up on a cross-country flight.

Tyson revealed shortly after the fight that he almost died on that plane and ultimately received eight blood transfusions while recovering from the incident.

“This is one of those situations where you lost but you still won,” he said on

‘I almost died in June; I had eight blood transfusions. I lost half my blood and 25 pounds in the hospital and had to fight to get myself back together to fight, so I won.

“For my children to see me go toe-to-toe and finish eight rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience no man has the right to ask for.”

When asked to reflect on a fight at a pop-up event in Miami, Tyson also said, “Magically.” It just happened so fast. The eight rounds ended quickly. I wasn’t tired. I wasn’t sweating. I didn’t understand that.’

However, Tyson’s son Amir had a different opinion: “They just shot out his gas tank after the third shot.” That’s all it was. He continued to stay throughout the entire process. He did the best he could. With no brakes, he did the best he could at his age.’

In a separate interview, Amir admitted that he was proud of his father for stepping into the ring against a much younger competitor.

“I felt very proud,” he said. ‘But yes, of course I was worried. “I knew he wouldn’t get knocked down or defeated because he can take those hits.

“But at the same time, Jake is younger, faster and bigger; when you get older, your cardio goes down,” Amir added.

“But he did it better than any 58-year-old man, he went all the way and I’m very proud of what he did.” It was like a Rocky XI moment.

“Most athletes call it quits and retire into the sunset, but for him to remain so relevant for so many generations proves it all,” Amir continued. “I’m very proud.”

It has been estimated that Tyson made around $20 million from the rescheduled fight, which was initially due to take place in July but was postponed due to an ulcer outbreak suffered by the iconic boxer.
