In the interview, Weiss said that being a child star made him “an adrenaline junkie,” which sowed the seeds for the addiction problems he would face later in life.

“Things were a lot more exciting for me than for the average 13-year-old: taking trips, flying places and acting in movies,” Weiss said of his childhood. ‘So I was very addicted to the excitement of things. And when that went away, I didn’t really know how to have that feeling. And I found that in drugs.’

Weiss was arrested in connection with public intoxication in August 2018 in Oroville, California.

Before that, in 2017, he was sentenced to 90 days in jail after being arrested in connection with methamphetamine possession in Burbank, California.
