A member of the public has discovered what are believed to be human remains in a popular walking area.

Queensland Police declared a crime scene at Glen Lomond Park in Middle Ridge, southeast of Toowoomba, after a pedestrian came across suspected human bones about 3pm on Monday.

Glen Lomond Park is a large bushland area known for its walking trails.

Searches are underway in the park, located in southeast Queensland.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
