Police are searching for a suspected offender after an elderly man was shot dead while responding to a knock on his door.
The 76-year-old victim was shot in the lower body when he opened the front door of his Canterbury Road home in Middle Park at around 7.50pm on Thursday.

The assailant fled on foot and was last seen heading towards Lake Albert Park.
The 76-year-old victim was taken to hospital with suspected non-life-threatening injuries.
Blood was seen on the ground in front of the house on Friday.
