The first images from Michelle Keegan’s new Netflix project have been released – and fans don’t have long to wait.
The 36-year-old actress will star in Harlan Coben’s best-selling thriller Fool Me Once after signing a six-figure deal.
Michelle will take on the role of Maya Stern, a widower trying to come to terms with the brutal murder of her husband Joe (Richard Armitage).
Netflix released the first stills from the show on Thursday and announced that it will be released on New Year’s Day.
The story follows a grieving Maya as she tries to unravel the mystery of her husband after she sees Joe in the house after installing a nanny cam to keep an eye on her daughter.

Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce (Adeel Akhtar) leads the murder investigation into Joe’s death, while struggling with his own secrets.
Meanwhile, Maya’s niece and nephew, Abby and Daniel, try to uncover the truth about their mother’s murder several months earlier.
Joanna Lumley plays Judith Burkett, Joe’s protective mother.
Speaking about Michelle’s new role, a TV source previously said The sun: ‘This is a big role for Michelle.
“Harlan’s dramas are among the most streamed on Netflix and people are watching them all over the world.”
The 2020 adaptation of Harlan’s book The Stranger, which also starred Richard and Hannah John-Kamen, proved very popular on the streaming platform.
The eight-part film adaptation follows family man Adam, whose life falls apart after he discovers a shocking secret about his wife.
Hannah played the mysterious stranger who exposes the secret to Adam, entangling him in a conspiracy.

Author Harlan, Danny Brocklehurst, Nicola Shindler and Richard Fee are executive producers of Fool Me Once.
These are busy times for Michelle, who was seen earlier this week during the recording of Sky comedy Brassic.
The series follows Vinnie O’Neill (Joseph Gilgun) and his five friends, including Michelle’s single mother Erin.
The comedy follows the group as they struggle to make ends meet in the fictional town of Hawley, often resorting to petty crime for money.
When Dylan’s girlfriend Erin (Michelle) wants to make a fresh start in a new city, Dylan (Damien Molony) is torn between following her or staying with the friends he considers brothers.
The BAFTA-nominated series began in 2019, when season four of the show was released on Sky Max and Now TV last August.
Fool Me Once will be released on Netflix on January 1, 2024.
