The former Coronation Street actress, 34, would like to sign on the dotted line one more time.

A source told The sun: ‘Michelle loves the show and the filming as Erin – she jumped at the chance to play her again.’

MailOnline has reached out to representatives for Michelle and Sky for comment.

The show’s third series will hit theaters later this year, starring Michelle, co-star Jo Gilgun (Vinnie O’Neill), and other cast members including Damien Molony, Tom Hanson and Aaron Heffernan.

Meanwhile, series two ended on a cliffhanger when Vinnie confessed his true feelings for single mother Erin just as he was being taken away by the police.

As he was being led away, Erin, who has been dating his best friend Dylan, whispered something inaudible in his ear.

Vinnie explained his feelings and said, “I know it’s wrong, but you’re the first in the morning, and you’re the last to have the night.”

He then added that he didn’t know “how to tell” how much she means to him.

Brassic follows the story of Lancashire-born Vinnie, who suffers from bipolar disorder, and his best friend Dylan, played by Damien Molony, from whom he has been inseparable since childhood.

As she navigates complicated relationships with protagonists Dylan and Vinnie, she still strives for a good childhood for her son.

Like many shows, Brassic’s recording schedule has been somewhat derailed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Michelle was forced to stop filming the show’s third series last year to isolate herself after being exposed to COVID-19.

But luckily, the actress didn’t actually contract the potentially deadly virus.

A source told MailOnline at the time: ‘Michelle had to step away from the Brassic set for a while. She’s laid back in Essex with her husband Mark Wright.”

The Brassic insider added at the time: “She only missed one day of filming. But she had to isolate herself after coming into contact with someone in Manchester who had it.

“Luckily it all happened very quickly and Michelle didn’t return to the Brassic set before secluded herself. So it didn’t affect the filming much.

“She has spent the past two weeks in total isolation. She will start filming again at the end of this week.’
