Michelle Keegan left rain-hit Britain far behind on Sunday in favor of the much more favorable weather on offer in Sydney.

While long-suffering Brits endured another weekend of temperamental weather, the popular actress enjoyed twenty-degree heat on picturesque Bondi Beach.

Keegan, 36, is currently enjoying an extended stay on Australia’s east coast with husband Mark Wright while filming the second series of BBC drama Ten Pound Poms.

The actress will reprise her role as Kate Thorne in the hit show, which follows a group of Brits seeking a better life in mid-1950s Australia, only to discover that not everything is as it seems.

But Keegan appeared to be taking a well-deserved break over the Easter weekend, and made the most of his free time by visiting Sydney’s most populated beach and its accompanying Bondi Icebergs – an outdoor pool built into the curving coastline of the zone.

The actress looked relaxed as she showed off her tan in a pair of denim shorts and a lemon yellow crop top while the dutiful Wright did the honours, photographing his wife looking out over the packed Bondi beach.

She later swapped her Daisy Dukes for a pair of baggy jeans as she struck a playful pose outside Bondi Totti’s restaurant, a venue famous for its Italian cuisine.

The British star also shared photos of an extravagant seafood lunch as the couple tucked into caviar and fresh oysters during their bank holiday on Sunday.

Captioning her latest Instagram posts, she wrote: “If only every weekend was a holiday weekend.”

Ten Pound Poms follows Nurse Thorne and members of the Roberts family, Terry and Annie, as they struggle to adjust to life as immigrants in Australia.

The first series, produced by Eleven and co-produced by Stan and the BBC, was loved by fans, prompting the immediate development of the second series.

A synopsis for the upcoming series reads: “After a challenging first year in Australia, the new series will follow nurse Kate Thorne (Michelle Keegan) and the Roberts family (led by Faye Marsay and Warren Brown) to 1957 on their adventure in Australia as they are determined to make this new country everything they hoped it would be for a new beginning.

‘Will Kate, Terry and Annie finally get a slice of the Australian dream they were promised?’

In the series, viewers will be introduced to two new characters: the Skinner family from Ireland and the unscrupulous landowner Benny Bates.

After the second series was confirmed, the show’s writer, creator and executive producer Danny Brocklehurst said: “Viewers’ positive response to Ten Pound Poms was a real pleasure.”

‘We tapped into a little-known part of our recent history and told stories that reflected the realities of the real Poms who made the journey.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be teaming up again with the BBC, Stan and Eleven to continue our characters’ adventure in Australia.”
