In a new candid interview and video, Mark said his family will “ never be the same ” after losing his uncle Edward to the coronavirus.

Edward, whose son is Mark’s cousin Elliott Wright, tragically died in early March at the age of 66 after an eight-week battle with Covid.

The radio host admitted he “ struggled to cope ” during the festive period after six family members fought the coronavirus within days of each other.

Mark revealed that both his uncle, both his parents – Mark. Snr, 64, and Carol, 60, another uncle Georgie, 62, his grandmother Irene, 85, and his grandfather all tested positive within days of each other, despite ‘no mixing.’

Reflecting on the rough patch, the TV star admitted that his “level of concern was a million,” he added emotionally, “I could have lost them all.”

Mark added that he has never been “so religious,” but prayed every day and night for his father who was hospitalized. His mother Carol and Uncle Georgie were able to recover at home.

Recalling the troubling time, the former TOWIE star admitted that he was ‘weeping’ at the thought of losing his dad, adding, ‘I thought if I lost my dad, I’ll never get over this.’

Mark added that due to the pandemic, he was unable to visit his father in the hospital and thought he would never see him again or say ‘hello’.

The family was left devastated when they received the “dreaded phone call” that his uncle Eddie had passed away in March.

Mark said they had received a video of his uncle ‘moving his head’ for the first time and it was a ‘huge step’, but he tragically started getting more infections that made him ‘deteriorate overnight’.

Looking back on the heartbreaking days for the family, Mark admitted that he had never seen his father “shed a tear” and “burst into tears” while his father “stayed strong.”

The TV star said it was ‘the worst day of my life’ but he had to focus on his dad being ‘best buddies’ with his older brother, Eddie, and ‘bottle up’ his emotions.
