Michael Schumacher’s former manager has revealed why he is not visiting the F1 legend after he was not invited to his daughter Gina’s wedding.
Willi Weber, 82, was Schumacher’s manager until 2012 and helped turn the eventual seven-time world champion into one of the highest-earning sports stars in history.
He also managed his brother, Ralf, who raced in F1 for 11 years and won six races.
However, Weber was not even invited to celebrate the marriage of Michael’s daughter Gina, as she tied the knot at the family’s luxurious £27million holiday villa in Mallorca with her long-term boyfriend Iain Bethke.
Weber has now revealed that he wouldn’t have been able to attend the ceremony anyway due to health issues and also opened up about why he’s already “said goodbye to Michael.”

talking to imageHe said: ‘I’m thinking about my successes with Michael: our goals and our victories. I remember Michael as he was. And we probably won’t see each other again.
‘It was my fault for not visiting Michael after the accident and not being by his side. Because I thought the media reports were exaggerated.
‘I thought it would be better to wait a few days and then everything would be fine. But it was too late. For a long time I blamed myself for not reacting immediately.
“Since then, I have said goodbye to Michael in my heart to find peace again.”
There is no bad blood between Weber and Schumacher, 55, who has not appeared publicly since suffering a serious head injury while skiing in the French resort of Meribel in 2013.
“I haven’t had contact with the family for more than ten years, I can barely remember what happened,” he added.
Weber oversaw Schumacher’s career and won seven World Drivers’ Championships.
‘I wasn’t invited to the wedding, but I wouldn’t have gone anyway because my health is not good at the moment. I wouldn’t have wanted to fly to Mallorca.
‘Michael was one of my best friends. More like a son I never had. “No one knows exactly what is happening with him today, so I don’t want to comment further.”
BILD has stated that it is “very likely” that Michael was at his daughter’s wedding despite his health.
The German outlet also reports that guests had their phones confiscated because the family did not want anyone taking unauthorized photos of the property’s private rooms.

Guests are said to have included Michael’s brother, Ralf, and his partner, Etienne Bosquet-Cassagne, who became embroiled in a dispute with the former’s ex-wife, Cora, over her claims that she felt “stabbed in the heart” after discovering that he was gay.
The villa has an airstrip and he is regularly flown from the family home by Lake Geneva in Switzerland to the villa in Port d’Andratx.
It is part of a 15,000 square meter estate that has two swimming pools, a heliport, a gym and a huge garden surrounded by palm trees.
