Dr Michael Mosley’s wife Clare thanked well-wishers for their “outpouring of love” after his death on a Greek resort island, describing him as an “incredible man” who is “dearly missed”.
Dr Bailey today issued a new tribute on Instagram, sharing a photo of her husband, a popular TV doctor and Mail columnist, who was found dead on June 7 after disappearing while on holiday in Symi.
He vowed to continue the work of the popular TV doctor and Mail columnist, much loved for his health advice, including on weight loss and exercise.
Dr Bailey told her 146,000 Instagram followers: ‘Thank you all for your wonderful messages of support. The great love of so many people has meant a lot to me and my family.
‘I’m going to be silent for a while. I’m sure you’ll understand. But I’ll be back here soon.

She has vowed to continue the work they carried out together sharing health advice, following her loss while the couple were on holiday on the Greek island of Symi.
She thanked well-wishers for their ‘outpouring of love’, in today’s Instagram post.

‘I’m looking forward to continuing the work that gave Michael and me so much joy and a sense of purpose.

‘Michael was an incredible man. Thanks for seeing that too. We miss him very much.’
Dr Mosley was found dead next to a fence at the Agia Marina complex, 80 meters from a beach bar and security, having gone missing while walking at a time when temperatures were around 40C.
An autopsy suggested he collapsed and died of “natural causes” about two and a half hours after going for a walk.
Sophie Laurimore, director of The Soho Agency, which represented Dr Mosley, described him as a “wise, wonderful and charming man” when news of his death was confirmed.
She said: ‘It is with such deep sadness that we say goodbye to our dear friend and client, the wise, wonderful and charming man, Michael Mosley.
‘Michael loved what he did and found it a pleasure and great privilege to work with his colleagues in television, radio, publishing and in his business, The Fast 800.

“He was immensely grateful for how receptive the public was to the ideas he had the privilege of sharing and to the many scientists whose work he had the honor of helping popularize.
‘Our hearts go out to Clare and the children. Michael was unique. The work he did was important. We will miss him very much.
Dr Bailey previously paid tribute to him as a “wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband” when she described how he made an “incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed”.
She said earlier this month: ‘I don’t really know where to start with this. It is devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband.
‘We had an incredibly lucky life together. We loved each other very much and were very happy together. I am incredibly proud of our children, their resilience and support over the last few days.
‘My family and I feel enormously comforted by the great love of people around the world. It’s clear that Michael meant a lot to many of you.
“We take comfort in the fact that he was close to achieving it. He made an incredible climb, took the wrong route, and collapsed where the extensive search team couldn’t easily see him.
‘Michael was an adventurous man, that’s part of what made him so special. We are so grateful to the extraordinary people at Symi who have worked tirelessly to help find him.
“Some of these people on the island, who had never even heard of Michael, worked from dawn to dusk without being asked.”

Time and time again, Dr. Mosley mentioned his wife, Dr. Clare Bailey, with whom he has four children and worked closely on all of their projects.
He was known for his revolutionary weight loss plan, the 5:2 diet, which consists of fasting two days a week and eating a balanced diet the rest of the time.
