Michael Keaton paid tribute to Teri Garr with a heartbreaking post following her death at age 79.
The veteran actress died in Los Angeles on Tuesday after a long battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Keaton, 73, starred alongside Garr in the 1983 comedy Mr. Mom, and the actor shared a photo of the film’s poster while praising her as someone who was “not only great to work with but also to be around.”
“This is a day I dreaded and knew was coming,” she captioned her Instagram post. ‘Forget how great she was as an actress and comedian. she was a wonderful woman. He is not only great to work with, but also to be around. And go back and look at his comedic work. Man it was great!! RIP girl.’
Many other stars took to social media to pay tribute to Garr following the news of his passing.

Director Paul Feig, who worked with Garr on the 2006 film Unaccompanied Minors, praised her as one of his “comedy heroes.”
‘Oh man, this is devastating. Teri was a legend. So funny, so beautiful, so kind. “I had the honor of working with her in 2006 and she was everything I dreamed she would be,” he tweeted.
‘Truly one of my comedy heroes. I couldn’t have loved her more. This is a great loss.”
Patton Oswalt shared a video of her dancing with Toni Basil on the TAMI Show as he paid his respects.
‘Rest in peace Teri Garr. “Here she is, 17 years old, dancing with Toni Basil at the TAMI Show,” he tweeted.
Garr’s Let It Ride co-star Jennifer Tilly also paid tribute to the late X star.
‘Rip Teri Garr, a brilliant comedy actress. “There was no one like her – she had the ability to be over-the-top and totally relatable at the same time,” she tweeted, along with a clip from her scene in Let It Ride.
Jon Cryer listed his “three” favorite Garr films and urged fans to “treat themselves” to the films.
Keaton praised Garr as someone who was “not only great to work with but also to be around.”

In the episode The One At The Beach, her character reveals to Lisa Kudrow’s character, Phoebe Buffay, that she is her biological mother.
