Michael Jordan has been revealed as the mystery buyer of a custom-made Italian sports car valued at more than $2 million.
The basketball great, who has a net worth of $3.5 billion, owns the only Pininfarina Battista Targamerica model in the world after being designed by the automobile company.
When it was unveiled in mid-August at Monterey Car Week, the Italian brand said it had been purchased by a “well-known car collector and current Battista owner.”
Pininfarina has now revealed Jordan as the buyer of the one-of-a-kind Battista Targamerica, which features an aluminum mouthpiece and a humidor between the front seats.
The 61-year-old is known for his love of cigars and was seen enjoying them during his summer holiday in Europe with his wife Yvette Prieto.

Its new open-top electric hypercar, believed to be worth more than $2 million, was delivered in early October, according to Automatic evolution.
The design includes a silver and blue exterior with a tan interior, while the engine claims 1,900 horsepower.
Jordan’s love of elite sports cars is well documented: the Chicago Bulls legend shelled out $3.5 million for an extremely rare 30 Venom F5 Roadster in May 2023.
He also made a habit of arriving to Bulls games in expensive vehicles throughout his iconic career in Chicago.
Jordan recently sparked fears about his health after a photo of him and his wife Prieto at a Champions League soccer match in Monaco went viral.
As he watched from the stands, the six-time NBA champion’s eyes looked worryingly yellow in the image, and several users speculated that he might be suffering from jaundice caused by alcohol abuse or elevated melanin pigment on the surface of his eye.

However, even though doctors revealed that those theories are not unfounded, a source confirmed last month that MJ is not battling an illness or in poor health despite concerns about his yellow eyes.
The source told DailyMail.com: ‘Mike is fine. You go to the doctor, you are getting older, and recent photos are not and should not be a cause for concern.
‘There’s nothing wrong with him. Like everyone else, we should get a little more exercise and Mike is enjoying the life he has created for himself, but he doesn’t have any hidden illnesses he is dealing with.’
