“Well, I think I walk a little like him, and people I’ve talked to say he’s smart as a tack… That’s fine,” Douglas said.
‘We all have problems with memories, as we get older we forget names. He has overcome a stutter in his life and could sometimes [stutter]but let’s just say his entire cabinet, including his vice president, would be more than happy to work with him again in the next term.
“I can’t say the same about the other candidate because no one in his 2016 cabinet wants to get involved with him.”

Zakaria pressed Douglas further, asking if Biden could govern the country in four years, when he will be in his 80s.
“I think it will be fine, thank you very much,” repeated the actor, who plays Benjamin Franklin in the Apple TV series Franklin, which portrays the founding father’s stay in Paris during the Revolutionary War.
‘These are probably the most important elections of my life. This is the most critical moment of my life that I can remember. We need someone who is in control, who has some experience and knows how to handle a global situation.’
Douglas’ comments come as a poll last month found that voters’ biggest concern about President Biden is his “mental acuity” heading into 2024 re-election, with his age and ability to finish a second term also in the minds of Americans.
The Deseret/HarrisX poll found that 34 percent of 1,007 voters rank Biden’s mental acuity among their top three concerns regarding the president’s re-election in November, including 22 percent of Democrats.

The same poll shows that voters are much less concerned about the mental acuity and age of former President Donald Trump, even though he is only four years younger than Biden, 81.
There is growing concern among voters about Biden’s physical and mental fitness for office, not only because of his age but because of his frequent stumbles, falls and verbal gaffes.
Meanwhile, the same poll shows that voters are much more divided on the issues affecting former President Donald Trump, 77.
The top three issues, separated by just 2 percent, show that the main problem for voters with Trump is his legal issues (24 percent), the worsening division in the US (23 percent ) and his excessive use of executive power (22 percent). .
Trump faces four separate indictments and dozens of charges, and the cases will intensify in the months leading up to the fall general election. The first charges were filed in March 2023 in the Manhattan forgery case related to Stormy Daniels’ hush money.
The other three indictments that followed are the federal election subversion case, the Georgia election interference case, and the Southern District of Florida mishandling of classified documents case.
Notably, although Trump is only four years younger than Biden, his mental acuity did not come into play until sixth on the list among respondents. And his age was listed as the 14th issue for voters, and only 8 percent included it as one of their top three issues.
Multiple polls reveal that most voters don’t want a 2020 rematch between Biden and Trump, but that’s exactly where the vote is headed after both geriatrics earned the delegates needed for their respective parties’ nominations at the presidential conventions. this summer.
The HarrisX poll conducted Feb. 26-27 shows that 14 percent of respondents say Biden’s age is their No. 1 top issue, and 13 percent say his mental acuity was their No. 1 ranking issue.
