Netflix has revealed that Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and the rest of the original cast of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World will return to voice their personalities.
Streamer is producing an anime adaptation that will delve deeper into the popular graphic novel series that inspired the 2010 movie.
Netflix confirmed the transmission in a post shared on Netflix’s official Twitter account on Thursday.
The movie, which was also made into a video game, was based on the popular graphic novel series created by Brian Lee O’Malley.
The first volume in the franchise, titled Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life, was published in 2004.
The franchise focuses on the eponymous character as he pursues a relationship with mercurial delivery woman Ramona Flowers and attempts to defeat her seven evil crises.

Five sequels followed the original title, with the last installment published in 2010.
The graphic novel series has been met with widespread critical acclaim during its six-year run, with many reviewers praising its combination of American and Japanese creative influences.
Edgar Wright went on to adapt the series in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, which starred Michael Cera as the main character.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead played the character’s love interest while Kieran Culkin played his acerbic roommate Wallace Wells and Elaine Wong portrayed his casual girlfriend Knives Chow.
Jason Schwartzman played the series’ overarching villain, Gideon Graves, while Chris Evans, Brandon Routh, Mae Whitman, and Satya Bhabha played four of the flower showrunners.
Alison Pill, Mark Webber, and Johnny Simmons played Pilgrim squad members, Six Pop-Omp, and Brie Larson portrayed the character’s ex-girlfriend, Envy Adams.
The film, which also featured musical input from such characters as Beck and Nigel Godrich, was met with positive critical reception upon its debut, with many reviewers praising its comic book and video game use.
However, the feature failed to break even at the box office during its initial period of release.

Hollywood Reporter announced that an anime spin-off based on the graphic novel series was in development this past January.
At the time, it was revealed that O’Malley would write and produce the series alongside BenDavid Grabinski.
The creator of the graphic novel series recently sat down for an interview with Netflix TodomHe expressed his happiness to be able to collaborate with the film crew.
“They’ve all gone on to do incredible things, but to me, they’re family,” he said.
O’Malley added, “There is – to this day – still a group email with the entire cast, and this has been going on since 2010. I was glad I was able to reach everyone with the news that we finally had a way to continue the adventure.”
Wright also spoke to the media outlet and expressed interest in adapting the book into an animated series for an extended period of time.

“I knew a live-action sequel was unlikely, but I’m usually put off by mentioning that perhaps an anime adaptation was a fun way to go.” And then, lo and behold, one day Netflix called asking exactly what that idea was.
O’Malley then spoke about the upcoming show that is likely to impress viewers with its scope.
He said, ‘It’s funny. It’s emotional. It’s visually stunning. The action scenes will blow your mind. And there may be some surprises along the way.
The upcoming Scott Pilgrim anime series release date has not been revealed to the public yet.
