Michael Appleton is in talks to become the new manager of Lincoln City.
The West Brom U23s coach has held initial discussions and has emerged as favourite to succeed Danny Cowley.
Appleton, 43, has previously been caretaker boss at Leicester City and managed Oxford United, Portsmouth and Blackpool.

The Imps are continuing to weigh up their options as they seek a replacement for Cowley.
Along with brother Nicky, Cowley brought an end to his time at Sincil Bank after agreeing to become manager at Championship strugglers Huddersfield Town.
Lincoln remain an attractive proposition as they sit eighth in League One after their opening nine matches. They have four wins, one draw and four defeats so far.
