Miami’s newest luxury vacation rental is a FLOATING mansion docked in the Atlantic Ocean

Miami’s newest high-end vacation rental isn’t a five-star hotel or penthouse apartment, but a floating luxury home docked in the Atlantic Ocean.

Arkup40’s “liveable yachts,” which can be rented for up to $1,600 per night, will be available for rent from 2022 through luxury rental Sextant Stays, who plan to purchase ten of the pioneering modular homes.

They have all the essentials for a glamorous holiday; hot tubs, 360-degree ocean views, and even room service by motorboat.

The modular floating houses can be docked in a marina and can be driven up to 2,500 nautical miles into the ocean. The entire houseboat, which will likely have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, will have floor-to-ceiling hurricane-resistant windows for a luxurious shipwreck experience.

The rooftop is expected to feature a private pool deck, complete with hot tub and outdoor kitchen, which can provide guests with food and drinks upon arrival as on a yacht charter, or delivered through porters as in a hotel room.

“We don’t see Arkup as a real estate product, but as a hospitality product that is much more convenient than going to the Maldives and getting a villa over the water,” said Andreas King-Geovanis, founder and CEO of Sextant Stays.

The Miami-based hospitality brand says it has no doubts that Arkups will be its most attractive properties. If King-Geovanis has his way, Sexton Stays will have at least 10 of the modular floating homes in its portfolio, eventually linking them together to form a one-of-a-kind resort on the Atlantic Ocean, according to Bloomberg.

King-Geovanis told Bloomberg he expects to have space for the Arkup40 in Miami’s Vice City Marina, where the yacht will remain docked until guests advise the captain otherwise.

Those staying in a 2,380-square-foot Arkup40 can have a captain send them out into the ocean before anchoring with motorized spuds. The captain then takes a tender back to shore, leaving the guests in total isolation.

Sextant Stays had the exclusive rights to rent Arkup75 in 2020 and King-Geovanis filled it with travelers for up to five nights until he found a buyer who bought the property for a cool $5.5 million.

With the sale, he hopes to start using his own Arkup40 next year, which he plans to rent for up to $1,600 a night.

For those seeking an Arkup40 of their own, Arkup — calling itself “a game changer in the hospitality market” — sells the model in customizable options of a hotel suite, studio, and modular one- and two-bedroom homes with customizable floor plans, upper decks and folding decks, for a minimum of $500,000.

Future owners can also opt for upgrades, such as installing up to four motorized, retractable columns (spuds) that revolutionize anchors and serve as added stability on the water.

The first Arkup40 will be ready in December.
