An owner of the Florida sex fetish club was convicted of killing his former roommate after the jury saw a video in which he dropped her body on the side of the road.
Luis Moya, 52, was sentenced Wednesday for strangling Ana Rosa Moreno, 21, to death, the Miami Herald.
Moya, who ran the Hammer & Nails club in Wynwood – a neighborhood in Miami – is said to have met Moreno, a car dealer, on Craigslist.
The Herald reported that Moya will be sentenced on July 19 and may encounter life in prison.
According to The Herald, Moya lied to Moreno and told her that he was a 37-year-old rich Brazilian businessman.
He was reportedly angry when she left.
Moreno's body was discovered on the side of a road in December 2018.
Investigators initially believed her death was due to an overdose of drugs before an autopsy confirmed that she was strangled.

When Moya was interrogated by detectives, he said she demanded money before she asked him to drop her off at The Roads.
He claimed that Moreno got into the car from someone he didn't know and they drove away.
But during the trial, prosecutors had shown monitoring material – shown to jury members – of Moya who steered her Honda Accord, dumped her body and drove away.
During the trial, public prosecutors presented additional evidence, including toll data and Google searches about turning off the GPS of a car.
Moya & # 39; s club Hammer & Nails, was for people who like to engage in BDSM, short for bondage, discipline, dominance, submission, sadism and masochism.
In a 2016 profile in the Miami New Times, the club was described as a & # 39; dungeon & # 39; with cages, electric shock equipment and a chest.

Prior to this incident, Moya was the owne of the Hammer & Nails club (photo) for people who would like to participate in BDSM
& # 39; People think BDSM should hurt someone all the time, but it has nothing to do with that & # 39 ;, said Moya, who moved to Florida from England in 2014, to the newspaper.
& # 39; The majority of BDSM is about having control over someone's feelings and beliefs and giving them a great feeling. We are people; sex is part of every human's lifestyle. & # 39;
The judges were not told that Moya was the owner of the club.
Moreno & # 39; s family members started one GoFundMe page last year to raise money for her funeral and other expenses.
So far, nearly $ 3,000 has been raised from a $ 7,000 goal.
