Danny Torres was the police officer assigned to administrative duties after Tyreek Hill was arrested

The police officer assigned to administrative duties following Tyreek Hill’s arrest has been named as veteran police officer Danny Torres.

The Miami-Dade Police Department unmasked the officer on Tuesday, a day after dramatic body camera footage showed the Dolphins star being pulled from his car and handcuffed.

The wide receiver was pinned to the ground while heading to the Dolphins’ season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Torres has worked for the force for nearly three decades but was placed on administrative duty pending an investigation into the incident.

‘Officer Danny Torres, a 27-year veteran, remains on administrative duty while the Internal Affairs investigation is ongoing,’ MDPD told CBS.

On Tuesday, police citations revealed that Hill was arrested for reckless driving, which carries a $179 fine, and a seat belt violation, which carries a $129 fine.

Before his identity was revealed, TorresProsecutors called for his “immediate reinstatement” and described the decision to assign him administrative duties as “premature.”

But Hill’s agent and teammate Jalen Ramsey have called for the officers involved to be fired for their treatment of the NFL star.

Meanwhile, on Monday night, the Dolphins described the body camera video as “maddening and heartbreaking.”

The team pledged to support Hill and called for “swift and forceful action” against officers found guilty of “overly aggressive,” “violent” and “despicable” behavior.

The receiver was dragged from his car and forced to lie down on the street. A police officer put his knee on his back and grabbed his hands while a colleague put handcuffs on him.

Hill was released a few minutes later, but not before teammate Calais Campbell was also placed in handcuffs.
