In 2025, the Miami Dolphins will play in Madrid.
the dolphins announced On Friday it will be the home team for the first NFL game in Spain. The match, which the league announced last year, will take place at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of the Real Madrid soccer team.
Miami’s opponent for that game, as well as the day and time, will be announced along with the rest of the NFL schedule later this spring.
Miami’s trip to Madrid is the last NFL international game to be announced for next season. Three teams (the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets) will be the home team in London next season: the Jets and Browns will play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium. Earlier this week, the NFL announced that the Indianapolis Colts will host the league’s first regular-season game in Berlin, after hosting games in Munich and Frankfurt.
The NFL has become increasingly committed to achieving international reach. More than 50 games have been played outside the United States in league history, but that number has increased in recent years. Last year, five matches were played internationally in three different countries.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told NFL Network in November that the league was targeting eight international games in the 2025 season, mentioning the three countries already announced. Goodell also mentioned plans for a game in Brazil, where the league traveled for the first time last season; Mexico City, where the NFL has not played for two years; and a possible game in Ireland, which has hosted college soccer matchups but would be the first in the professional league. Those games have not yet been announced.
