Miami International Airport is reportedly partially closed after reports that a woman was stabbed multiple times

Miami International Airport is reportedly partially closed following reports that a woman was stabbed multiple times.

The alleged incident took place sometime between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

The Miami Dade Police Department confirmed to DailyMail.com that the airport was closed, but declined to elaborate on the allegations until the investigation is complete, which the representative said could take anywhere from five minutes to five hours.

The initial report came from the ONLY in DADE on X account, which referenced an Instagram post from someone claiming to be at the airport during the incident and the ensuing chaos.

‘#NEWS: According to witnesses, a woman was reportedly stabbed several times at Miami International Airport recently,’ reads the post on X.

‘The suspect is believed to have been detained and bystanders assisted the victim until medical personnel arrived. We will keep you updated as we have more information.’

Police officers were also reportedly present at the scene.

Another passenger at the airport told X that there had been a “security breach” at Miami International Airport: “We were about to board an Emirates flight to Dubai when we were asked to clear the terminal and evacuate. An hour later, we were still here. What is going on in Miami?”

The airport issued a statement at 12:57 a.m. Sunday morning saying, “We are aware of an incident that occurred this afternoon in the Miami International Airport International Reception Lobby, Concourse J.”

“We want to reassure the public that the situation is under control and the safety of our passengers, staff and visitors remains our top priority. Authorities responded immediately and the situation was quickly contained.
