Mia Farrow responds to ‘vile rumors’ about her three dead children while pushing for kindness online

Mia Farrow posted a lengthy statement on the deaths of three of her children Wednesday night, addressing what she called “ vile rumors ” about her family after she was accused of digitally removing one of them from a family photo.

Mia, who had 14 children, discussed the loss of her daughter Tam, who died in 2000 at the age of 19 from an accidental overdose of prescription migraine pills.

She also discussed a second daughter, Lark, who died of HIV / AIDS in 2008 at the age of 38, and her son, Thaddeus, who took his own life in 2016 at the age of 29.

The Farrow family is back in the spotlight after the airing of a four-part HBO series, Allen v. Farrow.

The series focused on her daughter Dylan’s allegations that Woody Allen, her adoptive father, abused her when she was six years old.

On Tuesday night, an old photo of her son Ronan Farrow shaking hands with Hillary Clinton appeared, and some speculated online that Tam had been digitally removed from the photo.

Farrow did not say on Wednesday why she spoke out several years ago to address the deaths of the three, other than that it was in response to “ vicious rumors based on untruths. ”

“Few families are perfect, and any parent who has suffered the loss of a child knows that the pain will not end,” wrote Farrow, the mother of fourteen children.

However, some malicious rumors have surfaced on the internet based on untruths about the lives of three of my children. In honor of their memory, their children, and every family that has dealt with the death of a child, I am creating this post. ‘

Lark was described in her statement as ‘an extraordinary woman’ and a ‘wonderful daughter, sister, partner and mother to her own children’.

Farrow wrote: “Despite her illness, she lived a fruitful and loving life with her children and longtime partner. She succumbed to her illness and died suddenly in the hospital at Christmas, in the arms of her partner. ‘

Tam, Farrow said, died in 2000 at the age of 19 “of an accidental prescription overdose related to the painful migraines she had contracted and her heart condition.”

Moses Farrow, who was adopted by Mia as a toddler and co-adopted by Woody Allen in 1991, disputed Tam’s death in a 2018 blog post, claiming it was suicide.

For most of her life, Tam struggled with depression, a situation that was compounded by my mother’s refusal to get her help, insisting that Tam was just ‘moody’.

“One afternoon in 2000, after a final fight with Mia that ended when my mother left home, Tam committed suicide by taking an overdose of pills,” Moses wrote.

My mother told others that the drug overdose was an accident and said that Tam, who was blind, did not know which pills she was taking.

But Tam had both a rock-solid memory and a sense of spatial recognition. And, of course, blindness has not affected her computing ability. ‘

In Moses’ blog, he also claimed that brother Thaddeus had been abused by Farrow.

That claim has been disputed by nine of Mia’s other children.

Thaddeus was 29 when he died in 2016.

Farrow described her son in the statement as ‘brave’ and ‘happily living with his partner’ before the relationship ended abruptly.

“He took his own life,” Farrow wrote.

Farrow said the ongoing speculation about the trio’s death was “ to dishonor their lives ” and tarnish their memories.

“These are unspeakable tragedies,” she wrote.

Any other speculation about their death is to dishonor their lives and that of their children and loved ones.

“I am grateful to be the mother of 14 children who have blessed me with 16 grandchildren. Although we have known grief, our lives today are full of love and joy.

Everyone has their own battle to fight; their own grief that gnaws. I send you my best hope and my love. ‘
