Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes car will be repainted black for the Briton’s historic assault on an eighth world championship.
Last year, Hamilton urged the Mercedes hierarchy to change its traditional silver livery into a defiant message against racism.
And the German manufacturer will continue with the same color scheme when Hamilton starts defending his crown on March 28 in Bahrain.

Hamilton, who turned 36 last week, is in the highly unusual situation of being out of a contract after his £ 40m-a-season deal with Mercedes expired on December 31.
During the closing Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in mid-December, Hamilton and team principal Toto Wolff said no talks about a new contract should take place yet.
The PA news agency understands that both sides have been in dialogue in recent weeks, and while talks are progressing, a conclusion of the saga is not forthcoming.

Mercedes is confident that Hamilton, who received a knighthood on the New Year Honors list, will extend his stay with the sport’s all-pervasive team.
But the length of his new contract is under scrutiny, with reports that the record-breaking Briton has only been awarded a one-year contract.
“We’ve had such a successful series of championships in the last seven years, there’s no reason not to continue,” Wolff said of Hamilton’s future.
