While paying tribute to international soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in a touchdown celebration, a University of Memphis player ended up hurting himself in the process.
Memphis wide receiver Demeer Blankumsee was having a big day for the Tigers when he went too harsh in his celebration.
With the Tigers up 17-14 over the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Roadrunners, Blankumsee caught a deep pass from quarterback Seth Henigan for a 69-yard touchdown to increase their lead.
To celebrate, Blankumsee decided to retire the ‘Siuuu’ celebration popularized by Ronaldo.
But he landed awkwardly and on replay, his knee bends backwards. In another angle, Blankumsee is seen lying on the sidelines.

Blankumsee did not return to the game, but was seen on the sidelines. To add insult to injury, UTSA rallied to beat Memphis 44-36.
He finished the game leading the Tigers in receiving yards with six receptions for 142 yards and two touchdowns.
But the loss drops Memphis to 7-2 on the season and 3-2 in the American Athletic Conference.
They will hope to bounce back next week when they take on Rice University.
