Heavily pregnant Melissa George hosted an extravagant baby shower at her home in France on Monday, before revealing the sex of her baby.

The Australian actress, 47, shared a gallery of beautiful photos on Instagram celebrating the momentous occasion with her closest friends.

One touching photo showed Melissa proudly flaunting her growing baby bump while holding blue heart-shaped cookies, announcing that she was having a boy.

Another photo showed Melissa posing with some friends in front of decorative blue balloons.

The former Home and Away star appeared to be having the time of her life as she celebrated her late-life pregnancy.

Melissa commented next to the image carousel.

“Honey, the best baby shower,” he wrote.

The Perth-born star surprised her social media followers in January when she confirmed she was pregnant with her third child.

George also showed off her growing baby bump in a second image as she posed in a white dress and looked out a window.

Melissa shares her children, Raphaël, nine, and Solal, seven, with her ex-partner Jean-David Blanc, a French businessman.

Due to a custody agreement, her children cannot leave France with their mother without their father’s consent, meaning she now resides in Paris.

The notoriously private Melissa has not revealed whether she is in a relationship or who the father of her baby is.

She was previously married to Chilean furniture designer and film director Claudio Dabed from 2000 to 2011.
