A rideshare driver has been charged with rape and false imprisonment after a teenager was allegedly attacked after getting into his vehicle.
The 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Melbourne’s CBD after getting into what she believed was a rideshare shortly before 2am on Monday, police alleged.

Officers arrested a 43-year-old man at his home in Pakenham on Thursday.
He has been charged with rape and false imprisonment, and has had his rideshare driver’s license suspended.
The man will face the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday over the charges.
