A mysterious explosion was heard in Melbourne’s south-east shortly before midnight on Tuesday.
Many people in the area took to social media to report a “loud bang” and a stream of sirens.
At this point, it is unclear what exactly caused the explosion or where it came from.
“Did anyone hear that loud bang in Melbourne’s south-east? »wrote a local on social networks.
Another said: “It was kind of a blast in East Bentleigh! Sirens galore now. It looked like a bomb had exploded.
