A man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed by two women during a violent carjacking in Melbourne’s south-east on Sunday night.

The attack occurred near a shopping area on Lurline Street in Cranbourne, where the man was assaulted by two women.

Earlier that evening, at around 9.40pm, the same two women are believed to have attempted to steal a car on nearby Sladen Street, but were unsuccessful.

The pair allegedly approached the man, stabbed him and stole his vehicle, which they then drove to Pakenham, before being arrested.
