One of Australia’s all-time favorite racers – ‘Fairy Floss Girl’ – has been through hard times that threatened to land her behind bars.
Karly Tsivoglou set the internet on fire when she was caught by Daily Mail Australia casually mocking dental floss on Melbourne’s Oaks Day Day in 2016.
The photos went viral across the country — with KIIS FM Kyle Sandilands gushing, the then-19-year-old was “hotter” than Selena Gomez.
On Wednesday, the now 24-year-old appeared in Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court after failing to keep a good conduct bond she was given for a series of dishonest cases.

Appearing with a Victorian solicitor for legal aid, the court heard that Tsivoglou had been charged with one charge of dealing with stolen goods, five charges of obtaining property by fraud and one charge of theft.
The incidents took place in March 2021, while Melburnians were in the throes of one of the longest Covid-19 lockdowns in the world.
The court heard that Tsivoglou admitted to the crimes in January last year through the court’s diversion program.
Under Victorian law, diversionary plans are often handed to first-time offenders and are designed so as not to affect anyone’s life in the future.
According to the diversion plan, Tsivoglou was not required to formally plead the charges, but simply admitted to having committed the charges.
She was released on 12 months’ bail, provided she apologized to the court in January this year.
Tsivoglou was charged by the police after she failed to offer the court that apology, leading her to be taken to court again for violating the order.
The breach meant magistrate Steven Raleigh had to re-sentence Tsivoglou for her initial crimes.
Her lawyer said that Mr. Raleigh Tsivoglou had gone through some hard times after her parents separated.
“She has had an unstable living situation since her parents separated… the letter went to a previous address where her partner lived,” her lawyer said.
The court heard Tsivoglou claim she simply did not receive the court correspondence in the mail and immediately provided the apology letter upon learning of the violation.

Magistrate Raleigh took mere seconds to discharge her original distraction, allowing Tsivoglou to walk free without a blemish on her criminal record.
“You’ve been punished enough,” he said.
Tsivoglou, dressed in a long brown puffer coat, said nothing as she walked over to a white BMW and drove off.
Tsivoglou previously told Daily Mail Australia she was ‘happy’ to be in the news every Melbourne Cup.
“I’m happy about that,” she said.
Tsivoglou said she and her friend Alice Woodfall “had a few glasses of champagne, made a few bets and just enjoyed the sun” at the races and had no idea of her internet fame until the next morning.
“I woke up this morning to so many messages and screenshots of the photos! I was really shocked!’ she said then.
“My social media accounts have been crazy all morning!”
Tsivoglou said she received many compliments at the races but was shocked by the number of people who “showed their love” when her photos went viral.
“A few people claimed they were in love with me,” she said.
“But both Alice and I received many positive compliments throughout the day.”

From then on, Tsivoglou regularly shared photos of nights out and poolside vacations on her social media.
However, her online presence has taken a turn in recent years, with the new mom focusing on her little boy.
Photos show the mother-son duo enjoying arts and crafts, days at the beach and bath time.
But Tsivoglou still manages to get the occasional glamorous shot.
Almost every year at the Melbourne Cup, Sandilands brings up Tsivoglou’s memorable photos.

“She looks great, there’s cotton candy hanging out of her mouth… it’s all happening,” he said at the time.
“She kind of looks like a Selena Gomez-esque girl,” said Jackie O.
“But hotter,” Kyle added.
The Sydney radio host brought up the ‘Fairy Floss Girl’ again in a November 2020 segment about the Melbourne Cup’s most iconic moments.
“God, I can’t remember,” his co-host “Jackie O” told him. “Why was that so memorable?”
Kyle shot back defensively, “Because she was a pretty brown girl. She was just beautiful. She was hoeing that big floss stick.”
