A ‘home hack guru’ has revealed the five easiest ways to deep clean children’s toys, stopping germs instantly.

Chantel Mila, known online as Mama Mila, has two young children, but she says keeping their toys as clean as her spotless home is easy.

The Melbourne-based mum shared her five favorite tips on TikTok, where she has 1.4 million followers.

The first trick helps when it comes to deep cleaning small, hard toys like Lego.

The mother simply puts the toys in a laundry bag and puts them in the washing machine, before washing them in cold water.

Her second tip, which also includes the washing machine, is stuffed animals.

Mama Mila puts them on a gentle cycle with a cup of baking soda. This deodorizes them and softens the toys.

The third tip works wonders if you can’t let the stuffed animal go through the time it takes to go through the wash and dry cycle.

“You guys know how much I love my Mistral clothes steamer, and I use it to steam clean Mila’s stuffed toys to help kill germs and dust mites between deep cleans,” she said.

His fourth tip is for non-electric toys that are too big or clunky for the first trick.

You simply pop them in the dishwasher on a short cycle that cleans hard-to-reach areas.

This is perfect for complicated toys like cars, he explained.

And finally, if the toy only needs a wipe, you like to mix half a cup of water with half a cup of cleaning vinegar.
