The former presenter of Today with Des and Mel carried her essentials in an oversized black handbag while carrying a hot drink into the studio.

Last month, Mel celebrated three years of sobriety after admitting that her life has improved dramatically as a direct result of being alcohol-free.

The presenter, who gained fame in a series of light-hearted advertisements for Boddingtons Brewery, started her weekend celebrating the milestone with her Instagram followers.

Melanie took to the social media platform, revealing that the date was also important as it was the two-year anniversary of a life-changing trip to India with her close friend, Adam Phillips.

Melanie has focused on self-improvement after she was ‘eroded’ when her relationship with Steve Coogan, 54, ended last year.

It is said that she became increasingly concerned that the Alan Partridge star would not settle with her amid their largely quiet romance.

A source said The sun: “Mel has been gutted, it didn’t work, but although she is disappointed, she is not so surprised.
