Horror as the body of a 17-year-old girl was found on an isolated dirt road 24 hours after she disappeared from her home
During the search for a girl who was reported missing from Upper Hunter yesterday, a body was found.
Police on Tuesday appealed to public assistance to locate Melanie O’Sullivan, aged 17, after she was last seen in Mill Creek Road, Stroud, around 9am on Tuesday.
After failing to return home, officers attached to the Port Stephens Hunter Police District were notified and began inquiries to determine her whereabouts.
At approximately 10am this morning, the body believed to be that of the missing girl was found by police near Mill Creek Road, Stroud.
A forensic report will be prepared.
